RBI’s Young Professional Hiring Closes at Just 12 Posts — Here’s What Happens Next

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) advertised 12 Young Professional (YP) posts under Advertisement No. RBI/2026-27/01, with online applications open from 15 June 2026 to 6 July 2026 at rbi.org.in.

The 12 posts are split across six specialization domains: Finance/Fintech (3 posts, requiring MBA Finance, CA or CFA), Data Science/Analytics (2 posts, B.Tech/M.Tech in CS/IT or M.Sc Statistics), Economics/Research (2 posts, MA/M.Sc Economics or a PhD in Economics), Legal/Regulation (2 posts, LLB/LLM), Cybersecurity/IT (2 posts, B.Tech/M.Tech in CS/IT/Cybersecurity), and Communications/Media (1 post, MBA Marketing or Mass Communication).

Candidates had to be between 25 and 35 years old as on the notified cut-off date, with age relaxation of 3 years for OBC non-creamy layer, 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for PwBD candidates. General/OBC/EWS applicants paid an application fee as specified in the notification, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates were exempt.

Selection runs through four stages: application screening against eligibility and domain relevance, a domain-specific written test or online assessment, a personal interview before an RBI panel, and finally document verification with a basic medical check.

Successful candidates are engaged on a one-year contract, extendable depending on performance, and receive a consolidated monthly stipend along with HRA or accommodation assistance depending on posting city, access to RBI’s research databases and training programs, direct engagement with senior economists and policymakers, and a formal certificate of service on completing the contract.

RBI has tentatively scheduled the written test and interview stage for August 2026, with results expected in September 2026 and onboarding to follow in October 2026 — candidates are advised to keep checking rbi.org.in’s Careers section for confirmed dates.
